It's one of the very best TV shows ever, with an incredible small cast, wonderful writing, inspired satire, incredible tension between the male and female leads, Bruce Willis in his breakout role before movie stardom, Cybil Sheppard after her movie stardom as she triumphs on her first TV series, Alyce Beasley as the delightful Miss Dipesto, and Curtis Armstrong as her love interest, all with a killer theme song by Al Jarreau. who could ask for anything more? so why did it crash and burn after such extreme highs and rabid fandom? Learn all the inside stories, good and bad, I this book.

They were the scrappy bold American pilots-for-hire who signed on with General Chennault to fly for the Chinese Air Force against the fierce Japanese. Before we were attacked at Pearl Harbor and afterward, Americans risk life and limb to stop the brutal assault on Chinese civilians, and the Chinese villagers loved and respected them for it. The rescue rate for pilots shot down over Japanese-held China was much higher than in Europe, because the Chinese didn't care about Japanese retribution (which was horrendous) because they knew the Americans were fighting and dying for them. It's an amazing story! In these days of economic warfare and a possible new Cold War, it's important to remember that we fought side-by-side with the Chinese Nationalists and Communists.
