Carol was a student and friend of the great author, theologian and Christian professor Henri Nouwen, who taught a class on the religious life of the legendary artist Vincent Van Gogh. She was an admirer of van Gogh's art, and these sensitivities informed the deacdes of ministry Carol and her husband-pastor shared. Lovely book!
